The Timeline
The idea was first born in April 2025. We happened to be at this traditional crystal market in Donghai—a small town by the Yellow Sea by the Pacific.
There were hundreds of stalls where vendors presented beads that were made in their small workshops. We were immediately caught by the splendid, raw and unpredictable beauty of crystals. Each workshop has its own, brought out by craftsmanship passed down through generations.
We later learnt that, every fourth and ninth day according to the agricultural calendar, rain or shine, families would drive their electronic mini-cargo vans to go to the fair.
We were wondering, why we hadn't met them earlier?
We strongly felt an impulse to do something. We want to invite more people to get a touch of the sheer wonderfulness of Donghai crystals; we want to spread the word about the diligence and wisdom of crystal carvers; and we want to work with the most brilliant designers to present the crystals, together with other kinds of beads, including wooden beads, in the most meaningful and sleek way.
The Wu Xing
After months of research and exploration, we were delighted to discover the connection between crystals and Wu Xing, the ancient Chinese philosophy of the Five Elements.
The Chinese term Wu Xing (五行), often translated as the "Five Elements" or "Five Phases," describes five fundamental forces that shape the world around us: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Unlike the fixed elements found in some Western traditions, Wu Xing views these forces as dynamic, ever-changing energies that interact, transform, and influence one another.
For over two thousand years, Wu Xing has been woven into Chinese thought and culture. During the Han Dynasty (202 BCE–220 CE), it evolved into a distinct philosophical system and became a framework for understanding the natural world, human behavior, health, aesthetics, governance, and social harmony.
At its heart, Wu Xing teaches that everything exists in a state of continuous movement and transformation. Each element carries its own qualities and strengths, yet none exists independently. Together, they create balance, growth, and change.
For each element, there are corresponding crystals. We have thoughtfully designed bracelets that resonate with the energy of each Wu Xing element, helping you connect more deeply with the qualities you seek in your daily life.
Our Collections
To make navigation easier, we have created curated collections so everyone can find their best fit more intuitively. The core principle remains rooted in the Wu Xing system—the five elemental energies that guide each design.
Metal — Clarity & Focus
Wood — Growth & Vitality
Water — Healing & Calm
Fire — Confidence & Radiance
Earth — Protection & Grounding
Each element is also connected to different life moments:
